“MORE LIKE BARACK, LESS LIKE TUPAC”
Alfonzo Porter, the controversial, award winning businessman/educator who proposes to throw parents in jail for educational neglect, anoint Joe Jackson as Father of the Year, and who is demanding reparations from the Hip Hop community, will be speaking and signing his new book in our local metropolitan area.
With the release of his latest book, “More Like Barack, Less Like Tupac: Eradicating the Academic Achievement Gap by Countering Decades of the Hip Hop Hoax,” Porter is prompting a deeper, national conversation about American student under-performance as we move into the 21st century. The will economic implications for the United States are enormous if not addressed.
“American kids are now among the worst performing students in school,” Porter blasts! “How is this possible? The Achievement Gap Must Be Erased!!” It is equal to the imposition of a permanent recession on our economy, according to McKinsey & Co. (2009). America loses approximately $2.3 Trillion to the GDP as a result of poor scholastic competitiveness.
Porter’s provocative speeches have apparently touched a raw nerve. He is currently on a national tour and has stopped to discuss these important issues with us in our area.
